Founded in 781, Kannonkyoji Temple has long been known as Shibayama Nio-son. The images of two Deva Kings guarding the entrance to the temple are popular among visitors. The three-storied pagoda standing in the temple grounds is another attraction of Shibayama Nio-son, and it is considered one of the most important cultural assets in Chiba Prefecture.
